How to lift a Superstation a little bit?

Recommended Posts

Looked at a lot of tips of lifting but they all seem advanced. Lets say I would like the car to get about 5 cm (about 3 inches?) higher. What do you think if I make a solid plate to put in the bottom of the spring, like a replace bottom with the above mention height? Would that work? Or would the driveschaft(axles to the wheel?) get to much lean so it break something? Hmm, excuse if the language is'nt correct it's hard to know all the terms when you only had englishclasses in school for some years...

Any ideas?

What car are you planning on lifting? Or what body style? It really isn't that tough if you want to do the lift yourself. There are a few available for sale, but judging by your location shipping may be rather expensive. There are many people that have built their own lift so read on and you will learn alot.:)

don't worry *too* much about your english.. technical terms are a common point of difficulty, and your conversational english is fine.

We have alot of international members, so we are used to dealing with people who were not born speaking english. We DO have at least one other member from sweden, as well, but his screen name escapes me. You might want to make a "hello from sweden" post to see if he shows up; it might make be easier to overcome any language barrier you may encounter.

As for you now knowing the technical terms, we can probably figure out what you mean. So, in short, welcome to the forum, and judging from what I have read so far, don't worry about your english. It is much better than my spanish, and probably much better than most of our foreign language skills

you have to lift everything equally. the body itself will be lifted from all the crossmembers, to keep the axle alignment true.

the suspension geometry will remain the same as the body itself sits up.

then you have room for larger tires

OK, now I have read a lot of threads but still has my questions.

How much lift before need to drop engine/tranny/diff? Would 2" need any drop?

If no lift, would 195/65-15 fit?

The car is a 1988 Superstation GL with MPFI, ea82 engine.

I figured out that the front struts can be lifted easily with spacers on the top, and the rear should be simple if I just have a look. So the most important is to know how much to lift so I don't have to rebuild anything else? As in the title a "little" lift.

Hmm, saw the post above when I send thisone... Maybe I got the answers there???

I have 195/60/15 on my wagon(its an 87) the tires fit with out any lift.I dont see the 65 being much of a problem.Course now my wagon sits at least a solid inch and a half taller than a stock subaru with 195/60/15 tires..Im probally about 2.5" taller than a stock subaru wagon...
