Squeaky Clutch Pedal

Recommended Posts

Whenever I push my clutch pedal in, i hear a squeaking noise, similar to the noise i heard when my clutch cable was on its way out. I replaced the cable less than 6 mos. ago with an OEM cable from Subaru. Anyone have ideas?

I replaced mine last week and had a squeaky pedal as well. I had a boogered out hole on the pedal and the aluminum clamp that holds it that is a big "C" was bent almost off. Check and make sure its routed right and that your hardware is in good shape.

I have a 'creaky' clutch pedal - you can feel the friction as you push the pedal in. I assumed the cable needed some lube, but after lubing the snot out of it, there's been absolutely no improvement. I'm wondering if is the pivot bushings. Could they be responsible for a hard, creaky feeling pedal?

Yes - remove the pedal and inspect the pivot & bushings etc. I generally lube them with a bit of moly grease. Replacement may be needed as well.
