legacyak
I just got back from getting my codes read at Autozone and it turns out my knock sensor is what is causing my CEL to come on intermittently and unpredictably. Where is a good place to get a good knock sensor? I didn't buy one from Autozone as I've not had good luck with their parts. Any tips on putting new knock sensor on? idosubaru
Search button is your friend here, you'll find everything, including pictures of exactly where it is on the engine. they crack and need replaced, so just get a new (or used) one. call junk yards, post on here, order one new. don't click on anything, scroll to the bottom left of this screen and you'll see posts with similar topics to what yo'uve just asked, it's titled "Similar Threads". everything you need to know is here. all you need is a 12mm socket and some extensions to change it, but it is tricky to get to. just be patient. Anthenium
I replaced mine a few weeks ago. Maybe a month...'95 Outback. I got a $39 part from Murrays. I used a Long & a Short extension on the ratchet. I had the engine warmed up, and the bolt came out fairly easy. (Shoulda let the car cool before replacing though. ) The hardest part was disconnecting the wire connecter. Whole "Procedure" took 20 minutes, including driving to Murrays to get the part. Car runs GREAT Now! Better MPGs too... Best of luck on your repair, Fat TOny
