85glsw
Subarus aren't on the list of the type of car I'm supposed to take to Mexico, 18 hours down. But it's not a great time to be switching cars. Anyone have any experiences getting soob parts way down in Mexico?

Petersubaru
Subaru has never been imported into Mexico...you may see the odd one, most likely cars from the '80's that for what ever reason never made it back with the original owner..if you go there make sure that you have on hand a dependable parts source that can be reached thru the Phone (internet would be secondary) and who would be willing to ship immediately to an address that is different from your billing address
PonchoCatalina
Just make sure you bring essential spare parts, and that everything is in good repair for setting out. nipper
Check your car insurance. Most US policies are not valid in Mexico. You need to buy a policy at the border (i thin) or a rider. Call your agent and ask. Also dont leave anything in plain sight in the car. Mexico is still the wild wild west. nipper
misledxcracker
Yup, you need Mexican insurance. Dont forget it! You'll be in a load of trouble if someone hit you...
