Buddies cherokee.

Me and the wifey have had the jeep at "badlands" offraod park about 5 times. I can't seem to find pics right now. It is a stock wrangler with 31" yokohama at's. It does pretty well there. Only got it stuck a few times. It amazes me what a stock jeep can do..........

I'm a Jeeper. I love them. I am not ashamed of it. My friends have Jeeps, too. (A CJ-5, CJ-6 and a J-10.)

I have an '84 CJ-7 (current project...getting 42s and a big block) and a '78 J-10.

Until the CJ is done, I am running my '78 J-10. It's a pretty capable machine. It's got SOA with lift springs, a shackle flip, front/rear Detroit lockers, high-steer with 1.5" tie rod, 37" Parnelli Jones rubber, etc...

I love wheeling my Subaru, but for the thick mud and extreme articulation, I have to break out the Jeeps. My truck is a monster in the mud.

The Sube is the logging road/gravel rally master, though. I can't really drift corners in the truck...that would end up in serious injury, or even death.

Although I do not currently own a Jeep, I may buy one in the future. When I was 18 I bought a 1968 Wagoneer. That thing was soo nice. I think the steering wheel and a couple knobs were plastic. Everything else was metal. 200 something HP 327 Vigilante V8 (not Chevy) and 335 pounds of torque were more than enough to spin all 4 tires in dirt. It was more like a Subaru really in that it was more civilized and less off-road oriented than other Jeeps, having low ground clearance too. I sold it because I didn't offroad (at the time) enough to justify the 8 or so mpg it got. Miss that wagon ::sniff::

I hate to say that I am getting ready to buy a 2004 Grand Cherokee Outlander. My first car I ever owned was a 1994 GC larado. I want to buy a newer Subaru but with my family is getting bigger and with the price for newer subarus (dont loose value) it is hard to find one in my price range. This brings me to a point, Subaru needs to expand its Line. It is nice that they went to the tribeca, even the forester is a little to small for me. The problem is the Tribeca is way out of my price range, or I would buy one. I am military and my wife is a homemaker with 2 daughters, it is hard keeping up. I guess what I will do is buy the Jeep and then wait for the next gen of subaru to come out (turbo-hybred) and get one of them. In the mean time I still have 3 old school roos and have no plan but to beef them up and keep them running well past the Jeep.
