TheLoyale
Ok theres a big hose by the passerger side of the engine bay! It's right next to the trans but it just's hang's there? So should it be somewhere else?
cobcob
Is either end connected to anything? that'd be a good place to start figuring out what it's for
Phizinza
what size is the pipe? Sounds like a heater hose to me.
TheLoyale
No it's not a heater hose! And yeah i think it's connecked to the trans. It runs along the right side of the tranny and underneth the firewall! But is it supposed to be up somewhere or does it just sit there? Note: It's not hanging on the ground. TheLoyale
No!! Those are heater hose's right! I'll see if i can find a pic of it! I don't want to take a pic because it's dark and scary out lol:lol:
TheLoyale
Argg I can't get a pic because the spear tire is in the way! But let me see if i can discripe it better. Ok if you look on the EA82 auto down by the passenger side of the trans a little bit back from the trans axle there's hose about 1/2" 3/4" round one end of the hose is connecked to something maybe trans? And the other side is open like a breather. Now should it almost lay on the sub-frame part? I can't discripe it any better then that! If someone have a top down picture of the EA82 with out the tire in there i might beable to see it!
Phizinza
EA82 auto That was a vital bit of information we needed..I have no clue about auto gearboxes and I plan to keep it that way, I hate the things. Sorry, can't help. ˇ ˇ ˇ ˇ I ment the auto part, not the fact its an EA82...

Sorry, can't help. yeah i kinda for got to say it was an EA82! It's no biggie about you don't like autos! I like it because it's a Roo!After i drive auto for a year and if i ever buy another roo maybe i'll get stick.
mikeshoup
As long as the tranny isn't shifting funky, its fine. It definitely sounds like the breather hose.
idosubaru
tranny breather hose, it's supposed to be vented to air and not connected to anything. you're good to go. if you do attach it to a coolant line, let me know what happens!??!? argh, doubt it would be pretty. Gloyale
1/2"-3/4" inch??? not the breather hose, it's skinny like vaccum line, and should end up near the top of the trans. I think you are looking at the drain hose for the Air Conditioning? It comes through the floor and hangs very near the frame on the passenger side. Sound right? TheLoyale
Humm? That might sound right!? I'll go out and see.
TheLoyale
Ok yeah! That big hoes go's into the firewall! So it's for the AC for the water to drip out! Ok! And yeah your right about it being on top! It's under the spear tire. Cool! Yeah i know the breather was ontop because i've heard it on another thread. But i thought it was that. Ok now i know:banana: later
misledxcracker
Wait a minute.... Where's the transmission breather? Maybe mine's clogged, and maybe that's why mine shifts weird and pushes the dipstick out of the tube?
calebz
Ok yeah! That big hoes go's into the firewall! See - here is a perfect example where a little typo can make a big difference Personally, I try to stay away from the big hoes

Maybe mine's clogged, and maybe that's why mine shifts weird and pushes the dipstick out of the tube? yeah you should really check that out! Your lucky it dident blow a seal yet! And if you'v got a EA82 auto the breather should be right on top of the bell housing. Under the spear tire. You can't miss it! I think most older Roo's are probly the same way. But really check that out right away! Before somthing happens.

misledxcracker
Yeah, because you know, my transmission is slipping and shifting hard when cold, and it totally shifts like a baby when warm, but it slipped ONCE when warm too, and ah man... i dont know what to do If I wasn't "on the road" I'd probably fix it, but it's gonna have to wait :dead:
TheLoyale
man i hope you get home soon! becasuse your just causeing more damage! I'd just go into a well lite area "Gas station" "Wal-Mart super center" And find out if it's cloged or not! And if it's not well then IDK? And if it is, Then i'd take a little air and blow it out!
