sub_speed_559
i was thinkin of doing a 2 door conversion on my 88 gl turbo wagon so that i can do a body kit conversion with 16 inch deep wheels......i wanted to go with an 86 corolla body kit with flaired fenders and run it rear wheel.....but i want to know what i would need other than a welder, a drill and grinder, a gl 2dr front door set, the rear quarter panel on the 2dr and a custom window.....i also would like to know how hard this would be and if anyone else thinks would look good or at least halfway decent but let me know whatever input you have......thnx.....joe
joostvdw
why would you want the front doors of a 2door? the front doors you have now are fine and I would think it's a major job (read PITA) to move the B-pillar back enough for the 2door doors to fit. if you just weld up the rear doors, you also won't need the rear quarter panels of the 2 door, they wouldn't fit anyway, because the wagon is longer. besides that, sounds great! go for it! suberdave
i have thought of that before. here is a photoshop that i did for fun. yeah i thought of using coupe doors also, but moving the B piller would be a real PITA. but using stock front doors and just molding in the rear, wouldnt look as good. link to my thread http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=76831 -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
joostvdw
aah I see now, yeah it definately looks better with coupe doors instead of just welding up the rear doors you would also need the coupe front seat, they flip forward for rear seat acces this would be one of the first subaru shooting brakes! (XT wagon comes to mind..)
