TeamCF
I poked around and didn't see any info on this. It's an 83GL 4WD 1.8L 4 speed with dual range. The front axle seals on the transmission are leaking. It went from a small drip every so often to a steady drip. My questions is this. My manual has no info on replacing these and suggests that it be done by shop or the dealer. Is this something I can do if I get ahold of a special tool? Is there any trick to it? Or should I just find a shop that can do it and suck it up? I just hate to have to pay a shop for something as trivial as seals. Maybe I need to get a different manual. (mine is one of the cheap Haynes, does the job most times) Thanks for any help.
