Mysticcal
So I bought some coolant awhile ago and was decived I usually buy pre-mixed but this wasn't even though I thought it was... so I drive down the I-5 and I overheat and get a ton of white smoke out the exhaust. bad news... so I flush the rad fluid, change the hoses. but lately it's been overheating and even dying if I don't keep the RPM up while it's hot (hot being almost or even the white line before the red... the oil dipstick isn't a milky texture... so I'm not quite sure what it is. if anyone has any ideas... let me know, gotta make the 87 Wagon last.... Gloyale
Still smoking out the exhaust? Sounds like you need to replace the headgaskets. You are going to ruin that motor further by driving around with it overheated. up to the white line before red is overheated. I would never drive it above 3/4 to red. Mysticcal
a bit more smoke the normal when starting it up out the back after a few days of no driving, and almost clear smoke from under the car, i'm assuming from heat.

Smoke won't come from heat alone. There has to be something burning/steaming. Sounds like you have blown headgaskets and/or cracked heads. Is this car a Turbo?
