Indrid cold
Congrats on your new-2-you Hatch.... I love mine, 84' Hatch. Athough I havn't had a chance to drive it yet except too my house!, I snuck it home after the purchase (expired tabs, cracked front window) but we bonded right off... love it! I bought it a month ago and today I finaly pulled it up front for it's first inside bath... found jumper cables in the back and money in the seats!!!! In the next month I will re-do the front axles, bearings and it will be my new runner. Yea.. you need to post a pic of your new arrival.

spokanesoob
well i didn't know about the 89 ea 81s guess i need to spend some more time around here lol. Bought it off of a lady who bought it and didnt really use it. got it for 317 bucks. There isn't too much rust, the drivers side back inner wheel well is starting to cancer about 2 inches long but other than that its all on the surface. only a couple dents 1 big one about 3x5 inches id say and a couple of other small "minor" dents. the tranny is going south first gear wont engage and thats about it it was really of calling my name in a way. i want to do a 5 spd d/r swap but not really sure of what that entails i know something bout swapping clutches and lengthen the drive shaft or welding a carrier bearing is welding the only way? its gonna be painted any color ideas ? thanks spokanesoob

86BRATMAN
You'll have to have ea82 flywheel/clutch, and a custom length driveshaft of 48 inches, or an ea82 driveshaft shortened by 3 inches and weld the mount for the carrier bearing.
