Subafly
I dont really like the bubbly oil thats sitting in the air filter of my carbureted 85 ea82. The car runs well untill 3500 rpm in 3rd gear and 3000 in 4th gear and I harldy get any power in 5th gear. It made the drive over snoqualamie pass a challenge. I really dont know what the problem is. Head gasket? oh and my ea81 84 gl wagon has a really hard time starting. I have to crank it forever multiple times and sometimes it starts then it runs great. Any ideas on that would be great too. thanks Brian
nipper
You need a compression test. You have blowby. That is when the egnine rings get tired from age, compression gasses leak past the rings, (the blow by) and carry oil fumes up into the air cleaner. Even subarus get tired. nipper

nipper
what about the pcv valve, blowing oil vapors back in to the intake Normally i would agree, but that wont cause his powerloss, there is really only one thing for that. nipper
