jeepbrat
Hello all! it has been a long time! I still do not own another soob but I still miss swamparoo , the new owner has trashed it. I am researching an engine swap into my sj410 - a very rare ( for usa) jeep built by suzuki. Parts are only available from oregon ( i am in fla). I just put a piston in the 1 liter 45hp motor and 1 week later it eats a rod bearing. I was thinking of putting a bigger zuk motor in but would need an adapter to the tranny- what happened to that dude with the chevy motor in his hatchback? How do you center the mainshaft hith pilot hole to cut out the steel plate? ( without fancy computer CAD) Skip, have you any thoughts? anyone? Maybe I should put an ea71 in it:D
northguy
If an ej22 can be put into a Brat, it should work for your application. Ask around.
jeepbrat
I have a blazer with 4.3 sitting next to it but it is alot of work and is very heavy - could easily blow up stock axles.
PHATBRAT
I think you are talking about SubaruBrat. If I remember correctly, He HAD a chevy V-6 in it then switched to a Subaru H-6. (It was a BRAT, not a hatch)
calebz
Didn't lumpycam have a V6 in one of his soobs for a while?
ezapar
No, he's talking about the "unhatched" that Lumpycam put a chevy V6 into. It blew up a couple of trannys?, so he went back to an ea81.
torxxx
Phatbrat your right about Subarubrat.. The pics of the h-6 look like it fit in there decently. The valve covered touched the "frame rails" on the body on the passenger side back cylinder. I'd get a carbbed or Turbo'd EA-82 and put that in there... Easier to do and there's tons of parts for em
soobme
In Oregon, are U talkin' about "Trail Tuff Suzuki Stuff" or "Hawk Enginearing"? I can throw a rock and hit Trail Tuff from my house, and Hawk isn't to far from me either. I have wheeled with the owners of each place.
Meeky Moose
Subarubrats got that h6 in there, looks sweet!! although i think its a bit much for the ea-81 trannies.. since he did manage to implode reverse when he got stuck a couple weekends ago... but thats what spare trannies are for isn't it?
