beataru
OH NOES!!! I found a subaru star in the book.... its called someting like "lemons" the worst cars of all time, Luckally all the author had to say was that subaru had tendancy to place moto engines in motorcycle sized cars.... lacking in power, blah blah blah blah blah.... But it wasnt too bad, if i saw a GL in there I would have burned the thing!!!

GeneralDisorder
YUGO!!!!! or the LeCar. They are both up there. The LeCar was just the North American Renault 5... which wasn't a bad vehicle at all. The 5 turbo's were sucesseful rally cars actually. The Yugo wasn't all bad either - based on a Fiat 127. It was basically all italian in design and was a very simple and rugged vehicle. The difficulty was partially a lack of proper quality control in the assembly process, and a complete lack of vehicular knowledge on the part of the US consumer. When properly gone through and maintained the yugo is essencially a Fiat 127 and thus shares it's reliability in large part. It was, however, a complete disaster from a marketing standpoint. GD Good point. I was shopping for a Yugo at one point. Just wanted one for some reason. But could not find one that was actually maintained at all, they were all ran into the ground. Loyale 2.7 Turbo
...they were all ran into the ground. Not Exactly, or that might be just there... `cos Here, lots of Yugos are Still Runnin` Around. Also, we got another Yugo Model that was Bigger than the "fiat 127 / Autobianchi" Based one, it was like the Lada Samara`s Brother.

And everyone just seems to have drove them till death. I found some on used car lots in Portland several years back but thier conditon was not so good. I see one driving around every so often. But it's getting rare. I always thought it might be fun to have one just for the hell of it.

Any ford in the late 70s early 80s ?? old escorts we got here are mostly still going! basic, but they do the trick.... For crap cars, how about the old original hondamatics...... And, of course, anything starting with vauxhall.....
hatchsub
How about chevy vegas? I remember them making the top ten worst cars by click and clack. They rusted out in a hurry but other than that i didnt think they were that bad. The gremlin also made that same list because of how slow it was. I guess the guy who wrote in and voted it a worst car never drove a 304 V8 gremlin. I bet those things were screamers. Ive always wanted one since i found out u could get a V8 in such a small car. This Thread has def gone off topic at this point so im sure it will be getting moved soon.

Prospeeder
Wasnt there a book, worst cars ever made and had one on the Subaru XT being the ugliest most gimicky cars with poor reliablity and just trashed on its uniqueness.
dave valiant
The SNL car was the Adobe. Speaking of Yugos, has everyone seen the movie Drowning Mona. almost everyone in that movie drives a Yugo.
Reveeen
The Ford escort should top that list. I always had good luck with them until they started with the Mazda parts. Any ford in the late 70s early 80s You had to be selective, the bad surpassed the good, 427OHC? Boss 351? You do know what Fiat stands for don't you? I had *thought* "fix it again Tony"? How about chevy vegas? The only car I could reliably buy for $50, drive 6 months, then scrap out for $100. The gremlin also made that same list because of how slow it was. I bought one new, drove it home, gave it a 4 speed and a 401 (police motor out of a cop Ambassador), lasted until my brother-in-law stuck it through a stone fence, 12 second quarter spinning over 1/2 the way. has everyone seen the movie Drowning Mona No, both to Mona, and Yugos.............did you guys get Skoda cars? Bucky92
Wasnt there a book, worst cars ever made and had one on the Subaru XT being the ugliest most gimicky cars with poor reliablity and just trashed on its uniqueness. Being an XT owner..I have to say ..it is ugly but it does grow on you;) I hated mine when I first got it but love it now and it would take a GOOD offer for me to part with it. Some of the worst ones I have owned were...my Ford EXP ( if you dont remember them they were a small sport car of the 80s 2 seater built off the escort platform)..my 80 VW Rabbit Convertable and my 82 Toyota truck...I had a Vega ( Cosworth baby!) and it was awesome...my 2 Chevettes were great also ( they always make the list of worse cars.). I think for the most part..these best and worst car lists are bias and just one persons opinion...ecept for the US Yugos:lol: ..I remeber the local dealer back home in PA couldnt sell them..so they would try and give them away when you bought one of their Buicks
beataru
Oh yeah, the CCVT was in there, is that what it is called or did I mix them up? I know it stands for combustion chamber something or other. Also, the book didnt have numbers for worst or best, it just had pages with writing, and PICTURES, which I mainly looked at. I cant belive they dissed the 360 though.....

Kept the same vehicle design from 1963 to 1991!!! Maximum velocity of 90km/h there was a Saab that about matched that, except i *think* it may have been lighter.. anyhow, it took sixth place overall at the inaugural 12 hours of Sebring in 1956. I found THAT kinda wacky, but thats an endurance race for ya... now, how did I manage to post twice in a row about Sebring?
Uberoo
yep the old saab 93,95,and 96's.The early models had a 2 cylender 2 stroke. Then they uped it to 3 banger 2 stroke.I want one so bad. They just sound nuts 841cc of 2 stroke fury...Check out this clip of one.TURN THE SOUND UP!!!!! then a bit of light reading:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saab_two-stroke
