Kostamojen
Dont you dare touch the fenders, or i will fly over there and rip your arms off!!!!, i fitted a set of 13x5 inch rims from a l series subie with 175/70/13 and it clear very well, earlier rims with those tyres will fowl the fenders, but never had access to the 14inch rims off some l series so they might clear with 185/60/14 tyresThierry LOL! Well the fenders might have to go anyway due to the rust... I did some photoshoping last night to see what it would look like with taller fenders simular to the front, and it does make the car design look more even. Ill post a pic or two of it when I get back from work tonight.

maudsland
I was going to build a FF1 as a track racer, basically a silowet,(i know spelling mistake), to clear the tyres i was going to box out the guards as per the zacspeed escorts in the 80's, tapered from the front to the rear and flat on the top, using the crease line where it bulgers from still keep the same profile but wider for clearance, but that was when i had 3 FF1's at my disposal, now that the cars are in the same catorgary as rocking horse poop, i feel keeping it standard would be better. From what i see from the p[icture there would be more work in moving the arches up than repairing what is there, but that is my 2 bobs worth, or is that a quarter over there Thierry
Leeroy
Yeah I agree with others that cutting the rear guards on something as rare as an FF-1 is a little drastic (each to there own, though Kostmojen!) In my mind a nice set of 13 inch alloys (the car lowered of course! ) would be better than the Peugeot rims. Kind of like a 'Cal Looker' to pinch a VW term. That way there would be no need to change the guards. Anyway, just another opinion!
hatchsub
How about a set of the 1974 sport mags? I bet they would look awesome on that car and you wouldnt have to cut the wheel wells. There is a picture of them on the wheel page if you cant picture what they look like. For some reason this school computer that im on wont let me post the link. maudsland
There is very little room to play with under the rear guard, a 6 in rim might be the max size you can fit, to much offset and the tyre rim will fowl with the trailing arm, there is a little lug on the arm you can grind off to give a little more clearance, then not enough offset and hits the guard. Cheers Thierry
Kostamojen
I'll have to double check, but theres quite a bit of clearance there. I'm pretty experience with squeezing rims/tires on with a minimum amount of space, so ill figure something out...
maudsland
i just replied in the other thread, the tyre size on the other car is 185/55/14 so 14's can fit just, and the wheels are einki Thierry

Kostamojen
FYI, the rears are fitting with the ride height raised... Albiet the fenders will hit when the suspension is compressed. But theres a half inch to an inch of clearance for right now, so I have a rolling chassis without flat tires :-p And yes, theres not a lot of clearance with that rear trailing arm... I've got about 2/3'rds of an inch right now with the Pugs and the 205's. If I put on higher offset rims that would clear the fender, it would hit.
