TheBush
I have a 1986 GL10.....with like the digital speedometer, and tach, etc. Well, every time I hit 55 mph (or over), theres a little red light that comes on, directly under the speedometer, above the trip odometer thing... What is it, what does it mean?
j2coe
probably a warning light to tell you you're exceeding 55 MPH, did they ever have those installed around the time of the national 55 speed limit ?
TheBush
That's very possible....anyone else know for sure? Someone's gotta!
Hondasucks
j2coe hit the nail on the head, remember the old analog speedos that had 55 highlighted? It's how they highlighted it on the digital speedos. I had an 83 GL-10 with the digidash and it did the same thing, except it was a red line under each digit of the speedo (Did the same thing with the tach if you exceeded 5500 rpm). I've discovered that some of the digitals topped out at 85 MPH, others went to
SakoTGrimes
Some of them have something much worse than a red light. Jerimiah's wagon has a freakin buzzer that drives you crazy anything over 55.
daeron
thats wild, mine has absolutely nothing that happens at 55 or the bloody digidash would have been ripped out and smashed to bits years ago. That sounds REALLY annoying to me.

backwoodsboy
A guy I used to know had a mazda RX7 (rotary) that had a buzzer when you hit 6 grand on the tach to tell you to shift. Id never heard of one that went off for 55mph though!

zstalker
6k? I always thought rotarys were so high revving? they can be high revving, if built properly (balance, strength, good rotor tips, etc). stock, they are still somewhat limited. ~Erik~

Heh heh.... would you be able to rear a buzzer over a rotary at 6 grand?
uss_essess
Some of them have something much worse than a red light. Jerimiah's wagon has a freakin buzzer that drives you crazy anything over 55. Amen to that. One of my 6's has a keyed, ignition style switch that turns on a speed sensitive buzzer. Thank God it came with the key, or I would have had to shoot it.
