tuner-automotive
OK so I helped my friend by a 1990 Legacy wagon FWD and the check engine light is on. I removed the lower kick panel to access the self diag. hookup and cant find it? Its wierd , the only "T" shaped hookup down there is for the door chime . That one is on the passenger side of the driver footwell. Where am I missing it????? Its a auto tranny aswell. Any help thanx.
lmdew
Just to the right (sometimes Left) of the steering column you will see one set of single black connector and one set that is green. If these have never been used, they are often still taped up to the main harness. Just a single plug connector M/F one green one black.

Kilroy
Most times it will be wrapped up so tightly it will be darned near impossible to move them around to connect them. A 10mm nut driver or ratchet with extension will allow you to remove the nuts on the TCU/ECU and take down/out the ECU or TCU, which will give you a lot more room to move around under there.
