Name that leak!

Recommended Posts

Running for 10min, i develop a coolant leak on my EA82. its on the pass side of the car and drips down in to spots, roughly 4" apart from each other. If you move the car, there are 2 lines from the coolant.

Im going to look into this tomorrow... i think its the turbo but im not sure?

no telling.

Water will drip straight down, and when it encounters an obstacle, that obstacle moves it.

Heat the car up, get a laser pointer, and point around the front of the engine on that side looking for steam or mist. When the coolant is hot and pressurized, it should be squirting out; a laser makes it easy to find.

possible, I just had the lower coolant hose to the turbo blow on my RX and they are a #*@%& to replace. You have to remove the turbo to get the hose out. like daeron said warm it up and look for the leak, steam, drip what ever you can see, but passenger side especially if it is at the far back of the engine check the turbo lines.
