Milemaker13
So I drove 30 miles to work this morning on new bearings in the LR wheel. I only ended up replacing the left side because napa gave me all wrong seals. Lucky Auto Zone came thru w/ a timkin seal for the inner hub and I had'nt damaged the outer seal in removing it, so it was still in decent shape as well. I put that all together and managed to put the axle in 180* so the pin would not go.:-\ So when I had it all back apart, I tried to open up the right side. It didn't want to come apart very easily so I just added a bunch of new grease w/ a needle. Forced out some of the old stuff which didn't look too bad any way. It rode so smooth and quietly this morning, I'm thinking the left bearing has been *going* out for a long time, like 15,000 miles maybe:eek: So thanks to Mc Brat who supplied the replacement bearing and (of all people! And on a sunday morning too!) Auto Zone! It seems like it is good to go. About 100 miles a day will tell!  :-p

I get off the boat tomorrow at noon  (two weeks is more than enough), got to get to Madison to take care of some stuff (*coughbankingissuescough*) and should be able to make it back down to Dekalb Friday or Saturday. E-mail or PM me which works for you. I would have told you this in a PM but I wanted to thank you publicly for being so on-the-spot with this, and so transparent about the issues with the car I'm buying from you. It speaks well for your character and that of the whole board in general. Thanks, brothers. Much obliged.
