New to Subaru from Windsor Nova Scotia

Hi Everyone

I have caught the bug and bought a 2001 Subaru Forester. I had avoided Subarus in the past because I am a North American kind of guy GM mostly but wanted an AWD vehicle.

I found this car at a really good price but it had a "blown head gasket" which has turned out to be a cracked block etc, etc etc. I still have not driven the car and hopefully it will be on the road by next week. I have found this web site by searching and think it is very informative and intend to use it a lot. I am always open to comments and suggestions so please send them along.

Welcome Bruce!

N.S. is in our blood. Hope to scratch up a small lot of land near the Baddeck/Cheticamp/Inverness triangle someday.Should have bought in '97....:-\

Not sure what I can help with but feel free to ask. Last time we were up there was around 1997 and there still weren't too many Subarus there, which surprised me. How are pickings for used 2.2's and 2.5's up there?

I have an excellent relationship with a local dealer who gives me typical 25-33% discount on parts. And also there's a good yard that still lets you pick parts if they know you,and its right next to the dealer.I know how sparse it can be in parts of NS so if you want me to look for something,no problem.

Nova Scotians are the best! :headbang:

Scallops,mussels,salmon,sea-run brook trout the size of footballs..........oh man,:burnout:

Enjoy your time here.

Cheers,

Paul

Hi Paul and everyone else

Not sure if this is how I get back to you Paul but if it is thank you for making me feel welcome.

Yes we kind of like it up around here and beleive it or not there are quite a few Subaru's around now especially since I now own one I am looking more closely at the cars on the highway. The leaves are now turned and are in full color and absolutly beautiful.

Maybe I could ask you, I have posted a request for fog light for the Forester but not had any replies. Do you know if the Forester fog lights are unique or can I also look for say outback lights as well.

Thanks

Bruce
