Digi dash.

I found a 1985 Sedan in the local JY. It has the digital dash in it, and most of the interior. There is also a 1983? GL wagon that I am pulling parts off of that has a digital dash. I am thinking of getting them for my 1987 GL and the 1984 Brat. First, do I have to have the brain to make them work? If not then I might just go get them this weekend. If I do, I will just forget it. Most of the reason I like the cars I have so much is because there are no computers on them. Thanks.

yes, you need a brain and some wiring schematics. It IS do-able, but it is far from plug and play. for an 85 digidash, it isnt much worth it, either.. they are amber instead of green and notoriously hard to see in a glare. The EA81 digidashes were apparently really poor quality gauges as well, not to be trusted.

No brain for the digi dashes. Just LOTS of wiring to be redone. You'd also need a new fuel sender.

Considering the digi dashes fail often, I do not consider this to be an upgrade. Plus, the pre 87 amber dashes are terrible to see under certain light conditions.
