CNY_Dave
Putting on the hitch, I noticed the muffler has a 'bypass' pipe that goes from the front (entry pipe) to the rear of the muffler, and that about it has a small solenoid-looking thing sticking out of the bypass pipe. Is this just a 6cyl thing? Is it a muffler bypass for WFO? Or some kind of a tuned resonator? Thx- Dave
zstalker
yeah, it changes the muffler design based on airflow. it's got a little gate inside that rotates on a bearing set. sadly, this now validates the previously-humorous idea of "muffler bearings"...this muffler actually has some. ~Erik~

Sounds like the kind of thing that stops working fairly quickly. Dave
porcupine73
Yes I think I read it is designed to open above a certain exhaust back pressure, i.e. when operating at high power output, to increase performance. Sounds like the kind of thing that stops working fairly quickly. What!?! this is a soob!!!!
