keltik
Ello', im back to the USMB again, now with another Legacy. My nice german Calibra was quick as hell but the electrics were crap, the interior sucked and parts were IMPOSSIBLE to get. So here i am, this time with a '02 Legacy GT30 Bilstein model. EZ30 FTW! Im hoping to god i dont have to do anything mechanical on this one, well the dealer warrantys got me covered for 4 years. Yes car payments do indeed suck, but its worth it. Getting up each morning and seeing this sexy lil beast outside my window, and the leather seats are so much nicer on the hind :-p My one question for the week is; The little navigation screen thingy is in japanese and shows me driving up the pacific ocean.....how do i fix this? Can it even be fixed? Cheers KELTIK P.S For Manarius and anyone else, 8 months have gone by since my last little incident and i havnt received one traffic infringement. My driving style has changed to cruzy and laid back (which suits this new car a treat!). Mainly the change happened from having my head slammed into a steering wheel, but moving out and living on my own contributed as i cant afford tyres now, or the gas to burn them with. PPS. Yes its fully insured.
thatswhatshesaid
Scha-weet car! Oh, if only we had those here in the States... Welcome back, and share more pics/info about that car!
ericem
Great to see you back man! Still remember that last car you had. This one is even nicer. To bad our car's don't look like the ones on the other side of the world.
Manarius
Hmm, I don't remember leading the charge of "shame" but w/e. That sure is a nice car. Those headlights are really cool looking. So, it's a GT30. Does it have the 3.0 or is that just a name? What kind of fire's under the hood? The car looks menacing, it better have an engine to back it up. keltik
Apologies there Manarius, wasnt meaning to pick on you specifically. Anyways! Yes the GT30 is significant, shes got the EZ30 3liter flat 6 in her with variable valve timing and chain driven cams. Performance isnt anywhere near the GT with the EJ20TT (EJ20H?) but gas consumption is much much better. Online info indicates about 220hp @ 6000rpm. Theres heaps of techy stuff on this site http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/subaru/legacy_wagon/2002_5/28485/ As i test drove an '02 GT and an '02 GT30, the 30 had a much smoother shift and what seemed like a more intelligent box. The 30 also picked up smoother and handled better. Ill throw some pics on when i get home from work tonight. :-p How does it compare to the USDM Legacy with the same motor? Well, the 2001 Outback USDM EZ30 is rated at 212hp @ 6000 RPM. My EG33 in my SVX is rated at 230hp @ 5400 RPM. It looks like a gutsy car and the EZ30 is a strong engine. Manarius
That is sure a nice looking car. The tinted windows and body flares really add to the overall look of the car.

keltik
Figured i might as well update this a little bit. After 30,000miles and a couple years i still love it! The car is now sporting a manual transmission out of a GTB. It hits the speed limiter in 5th gear and sounds like insanity on wheels with the new exhaust system. Its still a fat boat at 1700kg but the new slotted brake rotors and calipers made a massive difference in stopping power. I can now get through 4/5 hard laps before fade sets in. Have been to a few track days and am attending as many autocross events as my bank account allows. Quite surprisingly im almost competitive Just need to sort out my shocks now. They have become rediculously loose! Still lurking here when possible. Great to see the USMB still going
