There is a huge Russian organized crime ring stealing luxury cars AND Subaru SVX/WRX models. There is a huge demand for stolen Subaru's in Russia. At least 20 WRX/SVX's have been stolen in the last two weeks in Montreal and Toronto. Also dissappearing are a lot of SVX and WRX parts from scrapyards, and accidented cars are bought at insurance auction and sent to Russia as well. If you are in Quebec-Windsor corridor or in the Ottawa area and have your SVX or WRX stolen you are not likely to see it ever again. Within 48 hours of being stolen it is in a container in the port of Montreal heading to Russia. It is a steal to order system, likely one Russian mafia got an SVX and others now want one too, and the orders are out. We don't have vehicle tracking systems in Canada and alarms are way too easy to hack into (especially the peice of crap Subaru one). The only good anti-theft device is the Autolock device which locks the brake or clutch pedal. It is the only device that can virtually guarantee that the car CAN NOT be stolen in the first place. wrxsubaru
yeah they would be. I think iam going to take some extra precations when i am done with it. I have the car insured even tho its on jack stands, in case they steal i can get my money for it. Some people were looking at it, or at least what my mom said. Two "kids". Meeky Moose
thats whacked.. why the hell steal an svx?? at any rate, pull the battery, plug wires, maybe leave a rotwieler in there at nights.. i'd invest a couple hundred in a pc camera to record whats goin on in the driveway at night.. its not that hard to setup, leave a note on the window that says "your on hidden camera" that'd be enough of a deterent itself, lol.. its not likely they'd break into your house to get the camera.. i remember when i lived in greece, my dad had his toyota stolen.. all they found was the topper and the spare tire.. the bad thing was you had to pump it once to get it to start.. they didn't so it cranked for about 5 minutes.. he heard it cranking, but it didn't register what it was until it was too late.. he got outside just as they pulled away.. guard those svx's.. benebob
Checked the garage. My baby is still there. My guess is that the SVX has just rose to the top of the stolen list. That is a rate of 3 per what 4000 SVXs in Canada?
SuperRallyRoo
I saw 6 different SVX's yesterday all within 3 hours most where the same color as Dan's 2 where green, one was pearl. I'm sure the maroon ones wheren't all the same car lol.
