jamal
The WRC car has had 4 lug hubs for a few years now. If you take a look at the hub and spindle on one of those you'll see that it's somewhat different from what's on the showroom model. here's the best picture I could find 08 WRX is still 5x100 08 STi is still 5x114.

DerFahrer
If memory serves me correctly, the WRC car has 4 X 140 hubs
TheSubaruJunkie
It has 4x136mm hubs. -Brian
ericem
I guess they figure its faster to remove and install the wheels. Also faster to torque down correctly and evenly.
Towel Rail
Also faster to torque down correctly and evenly. Seems backward to me. 5-lug wheels should need a little less torque per lug, and you can just do every other lug until they're tight enough, as opposed to doing one, going across, doing the next, going across, etc. I could be wrong though. crazy D
thats crazy. do yout think the 4x136 would still fit on 4x140 hubs? -Dalton

thatswhatshesaid
thats crazy. do yout think the 4x136 would still fit on 4x140 hubs? -Dalton No way. There's almost half a centimeter difference. But I would be interested in seeing if EA-car owners could re-4-lug their cars for WRC wheels. Maybe that's the next step in EA evolution. No more 5-lug...just WRC 4-lug patterns! Anyone want to slap them hubs on their car and write up the process for everyone else?
