replacement strut options?

Recommended Posts

exactly. im not looking for an extreme trail rig. i go lots of highway driving to the mtn to snowboard and to the beach to surf but it seems like everytime i get to where im going i need to go through some serious snow or some atv trail to get to the right spots. so i dont need the most capable rig on the board but it need to be more capable than stock

Stiffer suspention can handle the rough stuff better. Less bottoming out.

Thats always been my thought on it, anyway

I always preferred the softer suspension for the rougher trails. and the stock springs are already too stiff to allow for full compression unless you're really loaded down (means less travel...)

but....like I mentioned earlier. KYB GR2s, and Ground Control coilovers. if you do some searching, you could probably get the whole setup for ~$500...

I have no problem with full compression with just 60 lbs of tool in the back. With a load, I can't keep it off the bumpstops in the rough!!

bump stops.....no lift eh? no offense dude, but completely different situation. you're about 2 inches from true full compression.

on my lifted rigs, I'd lift a wheel, and could have a guy or 2 go stand on my rear bumper, and compress the suspension on the one side enough to get me through something.

ah ok thanks. ill just do gr2's all around and leave it at that..... when i get 320$

Check eBay. That website I posted was just for refference, I wouldnt expect to pay that much for GR2's.

Also check out your local junkyards. GR2's are a popular upgrade for almost all Subaru's, and when OEM struts wear out most shops recommend them as an OEM replacement. I found a set at my local junkyard, and walked out with them for under $40.
