2.2 Timing Belt Tensioner "storage"

Well, I will keep them compressed then. I have 4 EJ and 3 EA engines, so I tend to "store" parts for the future. (Like a 10x30 building full of Subaru crap!) It's an addiction! "I might need that someday, better keep it" kind of thinking!!

Ok...I have a few extra of the EJ series tensioners. Mid 90s. How best to store them? Compressed, with a pin in them, or completely uncompressed?

 

How do they come new from Subaru?

My theory would be to store them in as close to the normal working position as possible (i.e. partially compressed.) Then again, you'd have to tie up a lot of vices!

 

Fully compressed is probably fine.
