BlueTrain
Ok they hook to the gutters. Are they adjustable, as in car they be moved foward or back? you can put the feet wherever you want, they are essentially just clamps that hold the crossbars. TheLoyale
Okey i guess i should have added more info about the feet. Atleast on this set up you can't mount them over the doors because that front peice of metel kinda graps under the gutter, So if you are to put that over the doors you'll have a hard time opening the doors and that peice then has nothing to grab.... The first part of the foot rest's on the gutter, that's right. but that front peice which holds it to the vehicle grabs the plastic gutter part and won't work over the doors. Maybe yakima is diffrent? But anyhoo just a heads up if anyone gets the Surco racks....

TheLoyale
Oh and the other thing was that if you did put it over the door windows the peice that holds it to the car since it go's under the plastic gutter and holds it to the car. Theres no space for it there. The only place that had enough gap was that center brace between the front and rear windows and over the rear cargo window. bluebaru
You can put the rain gutter tower mounts any where on the raingutter theyre not gonna fall off it you open the doors. i have mine over the doors even on my loyales and have had no problems. as for the surco stuff it looks like its prolly just some boring stamped cheap stuff where as the yakima basket and bars are at least some heavy duty tubular. some times cost isnt the only factor that needs to be considered
Numbchux
here's a good shot of my yakima guttermounts: they're pretty thick (3/16s, maybe 1/4) wall steel tubing. and the gutter mounts do not interfere with the doors at all. even with the trim on (although I've pulled the trim off of my cars in some way or another....
