TeamCF
Girlfriend's current work schedule gives me saturdays free. (till december) So she just tells me to go wheelin'. I listen. Turned into a last minute thing so I neglected to announce it. Didn't get a ton of pics but heres a few. Went up around Goat (as usual, but I got a pic from a different trail) And checked out the South Fork area some. Got muddy and saw some elk. (but not pics of them, sorry) Up on a outcropping in the south fork area. There was a higher point I proly could have gotten to (from where the pic was taken. But there was lots of moss on the path and I was feelin' the Tread Lightly feeling that day for the moss. A jeep trail I've been down once before (the "flex rock" is on it). Nice technical trail with lots of rocks, short/steep climbs, roots, ect. Due to logging they have it blocked halfway down, but at a spot you can turn around. Still fun even though it's quite short. Made the run up to the top of Goat twice. Once had a bunch of guys on quads at the top give me the "No way! You drove that up here?!" line. And the second got a group in Jeeps (one of which was a sweet trailer-queen rock crawling rig) and Yota's. Giving me basicly the same reaction. Followed by one of them at that point deciding they wanted to build up an old Subie for fun. Then on sunday headed out to the Badger Lake area with ScoobyClimbs. Had alot of fun in the super powdery snow. (what, no Cascade Cement?) And alot of frustration with a guy at a traffic problem on the highway that was basicly like "I work fo ODOT, I drive a twin turbo diesel F-350 quad cab, I rule all, your little cars suck, you couldn't pull anything out." Then I pulled SC out of the snowbank, up hill, and we were on our way. (he got stuck in the bank cause he was trying to help out by putting out flares 'n' such which the ODOT guy did not have, and the angle of the road and ice slid him over when he tried to go again.) All I have to say is some of the stuff we went through that day would have made that guy crap himself. He was spinning his tires all over. I've driven plenty of capable 4x4 pickups over the years. One thing I always notice is when it gets wintery, they don't always work the best. Yeah in a all out tug of war my little GL would crap out against his truck, but it does what it needs to when it needs to pretty well for a little passenger car. Still had lots of fun though. Stopped at Mt. Hood Brewing in Gov. Camp for a beer and headed home. Gettin' close to the lake. "badger, badger, badger, badger......."

Yeah me going out sunday required conning my GF to go along. (with work schedules we only really see each other a few times a week now) She had fun for most of it but running on narrow cliff edges over rocks in the snow made her nervous. (I will admit to feeling the same at a couple points that offered not much traction) But her schedule is changing in december. So I may be able to take guilt free wheelin' sundays more as well. scoobyclimbs
I finally had a chance to post ...with some pics.... Team Cf and I headed down Still creek rd for some trail action ...we cut out some small blowdown and then after Team Cf crossed the log ..loosened his exhaust... We then continued over towards hwy 26E hitting the powerline trail..ya know this one Chaz....fun as always.. From Hwy 26E we headed over hwy35 with a quick "cookie" run at Whtie river snowpark....wahoo... practiced our figure 8's and drifting...Then off to Bennet Pass and took FS 3550 down to Badger lake and broke trail the entire way..(Note: a month before we atttempted to get in with 3ft plus...we only got maybe 3/4 of mile..) down to Badger lake...had some lunch...and cruised up Gunsight Ridge...where traction was definitely tricky..I noticed the temps at the mtn were fluxuating alot for m 27*F to 42*F (cold down low, warm up high) Badger lake from gunsight ridge... Team Cf put chains on for the last steep climb..once at the junction of FS4410 we still broke trail several miles down towards hwy44...until we came across a large blowdown..that completely blocked our path....:-\ Of course I had a bow saw, maddox, tow straps we could have spent hours cutting and moving that beast...But we were thankful we had nice small subies ...When I peered over the blowdown I noticed truck tracks that turned around.. ..We found a narrow notch right between a tree and stump with only inches to clear our subies...Wahoo...nothing like having a quadsized...track to get around .... Off we went down to hwy 44 then over to hwy 35N. We decided to head over to cload cap rd...that was unplowed...and pretty sloppy...we saw a couple of deer...that looked like everyone else does..when they see what a subies can do..lol then we headed down fs rd 3512 to fs rd3511 ....almost made this short climb but it was just too sloppy...team cf gave me a few quick pulls to get me turned around..after I slid off abit...so we headed back down...and over hwy35 over to hwy26 ....we came acrosss a bunch of idiots parked in the corner of the rd..standing around..just waiting to get killed..it was dark..& snowing I put out a (30min) flare before the corner and told them to get moving ....it was a bottleneck... The guy in the F 250 was a complete *********************... who worked for odot....who should know better...!!! Once we continued down to hwy26 a huge wreck with many vehicles ....I felt better about putting out that flare....and telling those folks to moveout.. It was time for a brew and burger...at Mt. Hood brewing...ice axe ale was tasty... it was a great day...

BTW like the jack and jackstand. Nice pictures Yeah the trial repair was fun. And the best part was the best tools for what I needed done was a folding Army shovel and a hatchet. (a screwdriver was involved as well) Never thought I'd repair my car like that. All part of the game.

Then tires for them. (gonna do a size I can fit with my suspension cranked for now) I'm thinkin' I'm gonna try to hit the x-mas tree run up near Seattle next weekend. Should be fun. TeamCF
There will be a christmas run with the cascade cruisers up goat mt next weekend Hmmm... That's closer to home and my subie gets grumpy over 55mph. (so I can tell a run up Seattle way is gonna be a long hard trip, and I'm low on the gas cash these days.) Keep me posted on it. There's a bunch of snow up there now but it's melting. Did a quick run up today before I take off for my girlfreind's.
