thatswhatshesaid
I was close to buying an EG33 locally, but ended up not being able to...so I was thinking about hunting down an EZ30 for my '00 Outback. The EJ25 runs perfectly and doesn't burn/leak any oil, I just like more power. I was also thinking of swapping in a STi 6-speed in place of my auto. Anyway, does anyone know the best place to find a solid EZ30? And how would I go about getting the wiring harness from the car it came out of? MountHood
I think I saw an SVX at the U pull on Sunnyside Rd. in Portland area a couple of days ago. Just caught a glimpse, didn't even get close enough to see if the engine was in it. They have the EG33 right?
idosubaru
your best bet would be to buy an entire wrecked vehicle, one with a manual trans would make it much easier. or if you want to piece it together, just start calling junk yards and comparing prices. They have the EG33 right? yes that's the only car Subaru put the EG33 in.
porcupine73
Maybe http://www.ccrengines.com could hook you up. The EZ30s are probably not cheap anywhere, esp. without a core.
subaruguru
i think the manual swap would allow more of the power from that (ej2.2) im guessing or 2.5 w/e it may be to get to the wheels. just my 2Cents.

I can't get a car with an EZ30 and manual tranny...that combination was never offered. I realize the EZ30 would be easier to fit, but it seems the EG33 is easier to eek out more power with. Plus, they are relatively cheap to acquire. Does the EZ30 have power goodies like the EG does?
