kiwi subbie Posted November 25, 2007 Share Posted November 25, 2007 ive got an wee problem. ive got heaps of oil in the air filter cover. now just wondering how i go about stopping it? since it smokes heaps coz the oil going in the carb as well as loosing an bit of oil from the motor. will i have to get an oil catch can? thanxs Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It will be angled towards the left side of the car and have a rubber hose coming off of it. The only positive crankcase ventilation our EA63 engines have is the 2 rubber hoses that go from the valve covers to the air cleaner. There is no PCV valve in the intake manifold. maudsland Posted November 25, 2007 Share Posted November 25, 2007 What i did on one of my cars was to dump the 2 hoses into the chassis rails where the cross member bolts up, wont stop the oil from coming out of the motor but will stop the excess smoke and keeps the rails lubricated from rust.
