Edrach,

 

In one of the pictures for replacing EJ axles there is a drift, the long one, looks to be for driving the axle roll pin back in.

 

Where'd you get it?

 

and thanks for the "how to", replaced both front shafts today. Piece of cake, well sort of.

I found it on ebay by accident. Great piece of luck too. It's basically a 3/16" drift with a one foot shank. I don't need the extra length for the EA81/82 cars but it's real useful on my Legacy since there's stuff in the way of my hammer using a standard drift tool.

I have an actual Mac tool that is a "Subaru axle pin tool" it was on sale for $14.99, normally $19.99

 

Yes, a 5/32 punch will work, but the tool has a step on the end that fits inside the pin, makes putting them back in a lot easier. (That and the tool is like a foot long)
