92svxman
My brother has a 91 turbo legacy 5 speed, with 17 inch rims on it that rub in the wheel wells. I was wondering if the rear struts from a 92 svx fit, and if they would give any addition height (so the wheel will not rub)? The Legacy SS had 16 inch wheels to began with, but the Legacy came with 15" wheels and I wanted to know if the struts are the same. Are the svx struts any longer, or ment to carry more weight? Thanks for you time Michael:cool:
john in KY
Can't answer any of your questions but if this was my problem I would just go with Outback rear struts.

Thanks john in KY, Its just that I have a svx donor car in the driveway. Don't have any Outback's, so I wanted to use what I have.:-\
Manarius
Meh. The SVX suspension is not the same as the Legacy suspension so I doubt any of the parts would fit nicely.
TheSubaruJunkie
Are you in the US? Cause '91 Legacy's came with 14" rims and the SS came with 15" Alloys. And no, the SVX's suspension is different. I believe if you use WRX springs you will gain some height in the rear end.

The car is riding on 17" after market rims. Thanks for the info about WRX springs.
TheSubaruJunkie
well cause the donut is a temp rim & tire. They are 16" steels and are definatly not made to be used as a daily tire. The EA series subarus were never offered with anything larger than 13" rims, but all their spares are 15". Anyhow, thats what I hear about the WRX springs. If you get wagon springs they are supposed to be even stiffer in the rear.
