welly
My infra red key no longer operates the doors remotely. Have put a new battery in but still nothing. Is there a batery in the car receiver? I am assuming not. Most probably a problem with the key electrics? Anyone else experienced this problem? Suzam
Year and model, please. No Subaru receiver has a battery, they all run off of the car battery. Silly question: Do you only have one remote or can you try a second one? You can try to reprogram the remote to the car and see if that works. Info on the board or try http://www.cars101.com for instructions. If that fails the remote may be dead.
Skip
Suzam says it all. To reprogram the remote you will have to find the service button. It's a momentary switch (button) under the dash. Sometimes hanging loose sometimes installed in a hole. May have a red colored button. Find your system here and follow the instructions Subaru Keyless entery BTW the remote is a RF (Radio Frequency) transmitter not IR (Infra Red)
