SubaRuthless
just bought an 87 gl wagon, has 220k miles, one of the quietest subies ive ever heard, although I have to push the gas pedal all the way to the floor in order to start sometimes and it also takes forever to get up to speed. I know somebody knows whats up.
The Beast I Drive
is it carbed? I say take off the air cleaner, and unload like 3 cans of carb cleaner down that bad boy! Then see if you can get the exhaust to flow free-er, and check the ignition timing to make sure its not retarded, and make sure there are no vaccuum leaks. Thats what I started with, but I just couldn't leave well enough alone... Anyways, yeah, thats what i would do -Bill

Virrdog
I ran into the timing problem. Only 2 degrees of advance makes the car slow.... Set it to the highest specified value in the owners manual.
