mallet2442
does any body have a fuel diagram for a 84 brat gl. 4x4. I am not able to get gas out of the tank? The tank is full, I removed all lines into the tank and sucked and blowed and the seem to be stoped up solid.
Phizinza
So you have a blocked up tank... On the front of the tank (right next to the torsion bar) there are two pipes, one is a return 3.2mm big the other is feed 8mm (5/8ths?) There are two vent hoses on the right hand side of the tank up near where the filler feeds in. But it sounds like your just having issues with the bottom of the tank. Maybe drain the tank with the drain plug then hit the feed and return lines with compressed air?

I have drained the tank and blew in booth lines and am unable to get any air in or any fuel out. When I drained the gas it was surprisingly clean. No water or trash came out the bottom. When I removed the rubber elbow there was a lot of rust seting in the bottom. I tried to remove the sending unit but the bolts that come from the inside just pin? I have all the bolts out and ready to drop the tank I just need to drop the rear dif. Out of the way first? Thank for the help.
Phizinza
That is really weird that it won't blow through the holes. Must be some serious blockage in there. I'm pretty sure you need to drop the diff, probably only off of the rear diff hanger. I would think the tnk should slide out backwards once thats done. TomRhere
Drop the Mustache Bar down from the outer mount points. Either at the end mounting eyes, or drop the brackets from the frame. Rear diff will pivot down enought to clear tank for removal.
mallet2442
Well my son droped the tank and it's shot! there are many rust spots that are leaking one the top half of the tank. So Im in the market for a fuel tank for a 84 4x4 brat? any help please..
GeneralDisorder
Wagon, Sedan, and Coupe ('80 to '84) tanks should be similar enough to work, if not exactly the same. But they MUST be 4WD. The 2WD tanks are larger, and don't have the divit for the rear diff. They can be used if you are running a large enough lift though . Hatchback tanks will be a lot smaller, and may bolt in but not entirely correctly. Again only 4WD tanks will work. There's plenty to be had in the junk yards here. I won't be able to get out to them till after the 1st, but I could probably find one if you can't get one locally. GD
mallet2442
Thank GD for the offer. I mite take you up on it. I have a wagon 2 wheel drive??? But I was looking in lifting it also. I’m going to do some measuring and come up with a plan.
