Subaru_dude
I recently had a 2wd 5spd tranny put in my '89 sedan because the old one leaked like a sythe. I've noticed now that at about 58mph it's cruising at 3000 rpm, but with the old tranny it cruised at 65mph at 3000 rpm. Did they change the ratios? And what about the 5spd d/r? I've spotted one at the yard but it's an 85, wondering if they were geared shorter early on? If so I'll leave that 5spd d/r alone. Thanks. GeneralDisorder
Hard to tell what that 5 speed FWD came from - they were the same from 80 to 94... Subaru changed a lot of the ratio's in 83. There's not many folks that make study's of the FWD's so you may have to crack some FSM's to find out. GD
