Guest jclay
Hi All, I had my 97 Legacy L AWD in for an allignment, and was told the sway bar links are cracked and would need replacing... how difficult would that be for someone who can generally turn a wrench? Also, any ideas on the best place to buy? Thanks in advance for all feedback, Jared
tcspeer
I replaced the rear ones on a 98 Legacy wagon, I think they cost around 70.00 dollars each but it has been awhile so I may be off on price. It was a very easy job.
GLCraig
Yeah it's a pretty simple job. If you just want stock sway bar links, you can probably find good used ones at a wrecking yard or you can obviously buy new ones too. If you are willing to spend a little more money, there are performance end links available too since your legacy will use the same end links as a 93-01 Impreza. porcupine73
It's not too difficult. It's only two nuts per endlink. You are supposed to replace the nuts as they are captive/self locking, but many people just reuse them and maybe put some blue loctite on them. You might go for something like whiteline endlinks as they are not much more or maybe even less than new OEM endlinks.
