Strakes Posted January 4, 2008 Share Posted January 4, 2008 I don't know about the swelling that you're talking about. I recommend any brake specific grease/lubricant. Make sure it's brake specific. They are readily available at the local parts store. I have used and have been satisfied with both AGS Sil-Glyde brake lubricant and CRC's Sta-lube brake lubricant. I don't know about the swelling that you're talking about.[...]Petroleum will cause many rubber compounds to swell and/or soften. Therefore, lubricants designed for brake calipers don't tend to have a petroleum base, although there may be a limited amount of petroleum content to help keep the rubber parts from hardening. idosubaru Posted January 5, 2008 Share Posted January 5, 2008 yep, any auto parts store will have this stuff, just make sure it's brake specific lube, that's all. they typically sell little tiny packets of it at the counter as well per job.
