211
I think I'm the only subaru in my town that doesn't have a tow hitch! This is annoying because I see grandma driving around, she's got a hitch and I bet she doesnt' even know what its for!!! Anyway, could someone recommend a hitch for me? I'm looking for good price/quality, ease of installation (no drilling), and esthetics. I realize I can google hitches all day (which I have) but the images available dont show the actual hitch, they're generic photos. I've seen Subaru hitches that look nice and "fitted", contoured to tuck under the bumper and I've seen hitches that look like they don't belong on a Subaru at all. If I have to buy one I want it to look right. UHaul seems to have the best price ($115), but again I've never seen one in person.
Suzam
I put a Hidden-Hitch on my 01. It's tucked under and comes with a plastic cap that covers the box receiver and the edge of the chain hook ups for a nice finish when not in use. Not drilling, just a little fishing through the body channels. It's a 1 person job and takes around 1/2 an hour, 2 would be helpful 1 to hold the hitch up to the bolts while the other threads the nuts on, but if you support it with a box or something it can be done. I'll see if I can post a picture, if I have one.

I looked at the HiddenHitch before and they seem pretty flush looking- one of the more expensive though- $150ish???
Suzam
http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=18785&cat=500 Kind of hard to see in the this shadows of the photo, but that's the idea isn't it? Yes it was a more money but I can tell you it's been on for 6 years and still looks new. No rust at the welds or anything. I've seen some others that chip and rust, so I would rate the quality on the high end. Plus it looks good without being the first thing your eye catches. CNY_Dave
The hidden-hitch tucks in quite nicely, attaches nicely. 2 bolts are a bit of a pain on the H6 models, but nothing a swivel socket can't conquer. paint was dinged off in a few spots on mine. J A Blazer
Mine came from U-Haul; I think its a Draw-Tite, but I'm not sure. But what I like about is that it goes over the exhaust tip, not under.
