nipper
ok....i have recently been hearing alot about this electronic tool for subarus called the Select monitor III....What exactly is this??? Is it just a manufacturer specific OBD II scanner? Its a subaru specific scanner that is OBDII, PLUS scans the tranny, the ABS, and the air bag system (and what ever other puters are in the car). It has more features then a normal OBD scanner. Each mfg has thier own OBDII scanner on steriods. nipper

Legacy777
Keep an eye on ebay. I picked up one of the first gen select monitors and a few cartridges for around $300 I think. But I don't think you'll find too many new select monitors on ebay though....

Hondasucks
You only NEED the SMIII for the 08+ (maybe 07+), the SMII will do all the way back to at least the early EFI cars (Pretty sure it'll do carb cars w/ the computer) with the proper cartridge. You would need the brown cartridge, handles 98 and earlier.
