Brat + off road lights question

Recommended Posts

Can you guys with Brats with t-tops and off road lights mounted on a roll bar give me some insight about your experience?

Do they light up the dash too much is what I'm getting after? I kinda wanna check before I go buying a set and finding out the hard way.

Thanks.

with a low bar like yours, you may want to get a type (round usually) that you can put the shade on, and install it on the bottom...

the higher the lights are the less they shine inside...

I use my lights on the back roads, and offroad. They do a nice job of lighting up my dash, as well as the terrain. I wouldnt say theyre distracting, but it is NOT dark in my cab when they are on.

Zap, even on my wagon with no t-tops I get tons of glare from my roof mounted lights. The glare was OK for crawling, slow running, but once you started really driving, it got pretty distracting for me. Especially since my mount vibrates a touch, so I could see the lights bouncing about.

The solution are these: http://www.kchilites.com/store/Glare-Shields-Blackbr-7302-P600C121.aspx

I found a set on ebay for $15... they worked great, but somebody stole them one of the times I had my car broken into.

Hmmm... looking at those shields one could proly fab up a couple from an old (small) plastic bucket or one of those nursery pots......

I have some glare on my wagon as well and a stack of diff sized pots out back. Why didn't I think of that before!

Thanks for the link Subarutex. :headbang:
