carfreak85
I guess you could call that "REAL DRIFTING". But in truth, they are just pulling the e-brake. That is about as basic a drifting technique as there is. Plus those are all slow corners. I think sliding three feet from a concrete wall at 100+ MPH is closer to the real thing. Not to belittle the skills of these drivers, who I beleive are the best on the planet, but that isn't real drifting.
Phizinza
"real drifting" ? Is there only "one" way to drift? I think people should consult a dictionary and our previous generations on what "drifting a car" means. To me, that is drifting, and so is that purpose drift racing that they do. Both similar skilled in car control. Both look great. But one is on "real roads" while the other is on a track which would have many dollars spent on keeping it smooth so there are no surprises in store. Where WRC SS's are not often on highly maintained roads. Great video BTW. Rally car drivers are pretty amazing.

I think if you pay really close attention you can tell the ones that are pulling the e-brake vs. the ones that are throttling by what their tires are doing.. IMO this kind of drifting is much more challenging than "drift racing"

carfreak85
Whatever Galen. A nice concrete wall between the car and the spectators makes it real? I'd like to see any one of today's top drifters do it ...at 100+ mph... With trees along side, not a nice concrete wall to catch the car and put it back on the track. This ones not bad. Offroad even! Sounds like the judges were impressed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPlH8X-9_uo[/url] Oh, and the WRC drivers don't wave to the crowd or open their doors, so there!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-xNSU7gjB8 This one is pure insanity!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DDJgNhHq90 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ppm3MIsqsK4&NR=1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uVA7iEtPss Buahhahahaha, I love you guys!!
