Need to get a clutch kit for my 85 GL-10

Recommended Posts

Where do I find a good kit at. I bought one for it a while back and thought it would be fine. The fingers on the pressure plate were a lot flatter than the ones on the old clutch I took out. The old ones stood up on the plate much further. Anyway this was the first clutch I have ever did. I just figured it would be ok with the new clutch I got. It works but not all that great. I had to adjust the clutch cable as far as I could and it feels like it barely grabs the clutch. It does not slip but it barely catches when I let the pedal out. Kind of sucks. So I am looking to do this again. This time with something better. Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks,

Richard.

Did you tighten the cable or loosen it? Is the action at the very top of the pedal or at the bottom?

If you have the cable tight, it will be pulling off the clutch all the time. Not good for the clutch or throw out bearing.

You need to loosen the cable to the point where there is slack on it. You should be able to wiggle the clutch fork abit. And the pedal should have abit of free travel at the top. The action should be right in the middle of the pedal stroke.
