jjjbemer
Does anybody know what the cylindrical hub the oil filter on the H6 screws on to is called? It has 2 rubber lines going to it and the filter screws onto it. Mine is leaking oil and I need to know what it is and what holds it in place. Should be an OEM part not an oil filter relocator. porcupine73
Hi jjjbemer and I believe that thing with the hoses on the H6 is the engine oil cooler, and the hoses are coolant lines.
GeneralDisorder
Yeah - sounds like an oil cooler sandwitch. The early EJ22 Turbo's used them as well. I don't know how they mount on the H6's, but most just screw on using the center pipe, or a nut on same. There should be o-rings for sealing. OB99W
Yes, its the oil cooler. Depending on where the leak is, it could be caused by the connector being loose, the O-ring being damaged, the filter mating surface on the cooler being scratched/dinged, etc.
