Its that time of year again...

Recommended Posts

Where everything happens at once. Last year it was blowing the motor for the last time in the RX and this year so far its been blowing an exhaust gasket, have a rock hit one of my headlights, locked my keys in my car last night at the movie theater, getting pulled over for a blown front turn signal (which also got my all stock except melon shooter exhaust and my tint questioned), rear defrost light is dimly lit on the dash and so on.

So its not going good, now I got a lot of work to do on my car including an oil change, valve cover gaskets, exhaust gaskets, finish my STi seat swap, swap on a good driver side headlight, figuring out why the rear defrost light is dimly lit and well, just having to deal with my 20 year old car:dead:

I know how you feel. I have to replace the tranny in the Brat, and I think the engine in the wagon is starting to go down. I will be pulling the whole wngine and tranny out of the Brat, and doing a complete reseal on the engine while replacing the tranny. I am going to save up and buy one of the CCR engines to put in the wagon, hopefully this summer. Good luck with your project.

I'll add my bit of misfortune. Took the Brat out Saturday and parked and went into a store. Came back out and there was coolant everywhere, looked to be coming from my Brat. Babied it back home and parked it, am hoping I didn't have a headgasket go bad. That next day, the Legacy starts making a wheel bearing noise. Then I fail my calculus test. I can't win for losing.

I'm thinkin my car is mad at me because I have yet to swap in the EJ20G:rolleyes:

Or get the Brembos and swap those on. Maybe she needs some goodies to make her feel better:banana:

Yea i stated earler that when i got stuck in the snow and i needed my 4wd it didnt work. But i did find out that you can fit 3 carseats in teh back of a station wagon. Its tight but cozy.

I found with the more new parts, the more the car rejects them.

They especially don't like new blocks, cams, or fancy head gaskets!

I MAY have a headlight i'd be willing to get rid of. Should be decent condition. I might also have a set of headlights modded with strobes

PM me if you are interested.

Tex I know the feeling! 3 engines in my black RX and I was fed up with it. Luckily this one is still the stock SPFI and it is ALL stock still.

I'd be interested in the headlight but I'm planning on making a run to Pull-A-Part on Sunday to get a few things (like some EA82 seat rails, driver arm rest, headlight, fenders) but I do have some parking lights for the front with strobes in them that I'm debating on putting in:-p

So here's a run down on what I gotta do (yay maintenance!)

new timing belts, tensioners and idler

oil pan exhaust, and valve cover gaskets

struts and shocks (see the Holy grail EA82 shock thread for details)

figure out why the damn rear defrost is dimly lit on the fash

get my driver door and rear hatch tint fixed (a long story)

install my STi driver seat

get my STi key blank cut

:Flame:

My RX probably has a bad temp sensor( which doesn't make sense, because I replaced it)

The check engine light is on for: knock sensor & wastegate whatever

I sprayed white primer over un-sanded rust today just because I was sick of looking at it:clap:

My car still smells like mouse @#$# from last winter:mad:

I did install finally the rest of my superpro bushings!
