Im under the impression that wagons from 85 to the last Loyale wagon in 94? that they are bascally the same animal in general

other than minor inteior change, emission changes, and some other updates/improvements they are the same animal?

I am buying struts and found a deal for a "4wd Loyale wagon".

Will they work on a 85 RX???????whats the differance if any?

thank you. MKC http://search.stores.ebay.com/CBS-Automotive-Group_loyale_W0QQfciZQ2d1QQfclZ4QQfsnZCBSQ20AutomotiveQ20GroupQQfsooZ1QQfsopZ1QQsaselZ175956450QQsofpZ0

That is my experience. The adjustable ones were on only a few years. The fixed ones are set at the midpoint of the adjustable range. I had a specialty after market parts guy look into it for me years ago, and that is what he found.

I have been checking this guy's listings out too, i was curious if the struts for the 90-91 loyales would fit my 92 loyale? I'm assuming they would but i want to be sure..... anyone know?!

and on another note anyone know where to find the adjustable struts mentioned above? I couldn't find any new production replacement ones! :/

The following applies to EA82 4WD wagons. From actual cars I have / had, 86 to 92 are interchangeable. My 86 came with the OEM adjustable ones. A bunch of years ago I got a second pair from a pick & pull yard. I just installed them in my "new" 87. The pair from my 86 have low miles, as the car was killed by an accident way before it's time. They are destined for the 92.

I do not know if anyone has found an aftermarked adjustable / adapted from another application. I was thinking of figuring a way to modify the fixed aftermarket units, but I haven't worn out my adjustables yet.

It should be possible to get a spacer in there if not fully adjustable. The range was only about 1 inch total adjustment.

85-94 all fit the same, for all ea82.

the only differences between models would be the height from 2wd and 4wd, 85-86 were adjustable, but they will all fit the same for any wagon, sedan, 3door, and 4 cylinder xt, and in place of anything with air struts. any other differences would be spring rates although any springs will fit any struts

the only thing that wont fit the same is xt6 and ea81's

Front I would try to find 4wd struts

Rear will actually give you a bit of lift if you ue 2wd strut on the rear(the mounting location is moved upward on the control arm of the 4wds to clear rear axle. This results in 2wds using a longer strut)

thats good info thnx. I ordered "loyale 4wd" front set for $60(R+L)

and the rears "loyale 4wd" rear set for $30 (R+L) both are the highest grade on the application chart. They are not KYBs but I think they will perform good enough for me. they are on there way soon. i will photo/compare an add to this thread if anyone is interested.:burnout: :burnout:

my mystery is solved, but If anyone needs needs info feel free to ask.

thanks everyone MKC
