Captin Hook
Hello All I have an 85'gl-10 with the Air strut or ajustable ride hight ,was wondering if you can find replacement struts that are ajustable like ones but just the push of the button or am better off just going with reg struts? crazyhorse001
I'm guessing the sedan/wagon/hatch air struts are very similar to the ones on an XT. That being the case, they're expensive & a dealer only item. IIRC they're in the $375 range. Are they worth it? That's entirely up to you.

mykingcrab
When they worked correctly,it was a great thing. However they leak, and elctronically malfunction. Your best bet (imo) is to ditch them, like almost everyone does, and rip some regular spring struts out of a donor. Im sure alot of people will probably agree. lts a simple swap. Good luck:cool:
idosubaru
for most people the very best thing you can do is just swap over to coil over struts. the air suspension system can be awkward and cumbersome if you don't have the time to learn it, maintain it and have easy access to spare parts. i love the air suspension and always keep it running in my XT6's. it's rather reliable if you put some work into it. i have some instructions posted on subaruxt forums about maintaining the air bags to prevent them from leaking and some other tips. if you go through the maintenance on a properly working system (good luck finding one!) the suspension will last years and many miles with no issues.
