lmdew
I've done this on several 90-94 with OBDI but never on a OBDII car. Anyone? Looking at taking a 98 Impreza drive line and putting it into a 95 Legacy. Thanks
njdrsubaru
Larry, it is doable, the only thing you'll have to do is to plug some EGR hose that goes to the tranny or something like that. Also the computer. i'm already studying the same swap for my 95, u never know when the tranny is gonna go

idosubaru
a 97 manual impreza trans into a 95 legacy auto? should be very simple (as far as swaps go). the OBDII should cause no issues at all. there's no EGR issues to speak of. both of those cars will have EGR anyway, but it won't matter for just swapping the trans. disconnect the TCU. Skip
don't forget the inhibitor switch, both VSSs and reverse light wiring. I'm sure you knew that Larry, sorry.
Gloyale
Gear ratios??? You need to make sure you're new trans will match the old rear diff Or swap rear diff with the one from the donor car.
lmdew
Thanks for the input. It might turn out to be a 2 way swap, The 95 2.2 auto engine going into a 99 Outback with a bad motor The 97 Impreza drive train going into the 95 Legacy I just have to see how everything is when I get the cars.
