chef_tim Posted February 23, 2008 Share Posted February 23, 2008 Just picked up the inner and outer tierods for my hatchback (SOA W/discount $76 per side:eek: ). The outer ones are cake, but I've never done the inner. Anything I should be aware of or any tips you might have to help it along??? Leeroy Posted February 24, 2008 Share Posted February 24, 2008 Did you also get new lock washers for the inner tie rods? These washers bend over the inner tie rods to lock them in place. MilesFox Posted February 24, 2008 Share Posted February 24, 2008 a long time ago i once put ea82 inner tie rods on an ea81 manual rack formy ea82 suspension conversion there is a flat washer thet is folded over the lock nut. if i'm not mistaken the inner threads are left hand. it has been a while hence my vague recollection. i remember having more difficulty slipping the boots back on if anything Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

After spending $150 on the inner tie rods, I wouldn't be wanting any grit getting in there. Otherwise they are simple - just bend back the washer with a screwdriver and spin them off.
