TheLoyale
I did search around and I can't find a direct answer. So anyways my idle Speed/RPM when at running temp is like 650-800 and the needle moves between those two. Then when in gear with brake on it go's to about 500-650 and when the lights are on it go's to 450 and the needle shakes.. So should I bring the idle up? And how do you adjust it? BTW it idles the best at 1000rpm....
GeneralDisorder
On auto's the idle should be around 850. You adjust the idle by adjusting the IAC flow control screw. GD

Skip
Oh really! Okay, Thanks for telling me where the screw is too! It's in the linkage on the pass. side of the carb. Wait now wait, tell you what about what for what? Are you sure the choke is not stuck on. Take the top off the air cleaner and look at the plate with the engine at op temp. Wait now wait, tell you what about what for what? Maybe the idle mixture wants adjusted. Small screw front lower part of carb - factory blocked by a pin. Wait now wait, tell you what about what for what? Is your exhaust furnace connected and operational? (thermo vacuum motor in carb snorkle) Wait now wait, tell you what about what for what? Sheesh ;^)

Skip
Thanks GD, I surmised that from your reply. My sarcasm is not proper, I apologize. It sure would be kewl if these guys that want help tell us for what. There are some people like you, that work on other cars - not just the one in their profile. I was going to get a picture for him as I have an SPFI manifold in the shop.

Indeed - I didn't catch your humor the first time. It would be nice as well. Perhaps Mick or Shawn could change the form for new posts to have a model and year feild after the title field. That sure would increase the number of posts with that information I would think. GD

TheLoyale
Hey yeah I forgot to add it's an SPFI, Sorry for the confusion! I don't need a pic, I found the screw today.. Thanks for the quick answer! I just had an idea, You know how there are some theads that people open for a quick answer that is not found by searching around. Well what if someone opend a thread and called it "Quick fire questions" Then people can post a question they have with out opening another thread.... It would save alot of Band width I would think.. Anyone else agree with that idea?
